BARNES TO SPEAK AT BREAKFAST TO BUSINESS EVENT

    January 10, 2012

BATON ROUGE – Stephen Barnes, associate director of the LSU Division of Economic Development, will be the first speaker of 2012 in LSU Executive Education’s  Breakfast to Business series. The event will be held Tuesday, January 17, at Café Américain from 7:30 a.m.to 8:30 a.m. Café Américain is located at 7521 Jefferson Highway.

Barnes will discuss the rise of the Green Economy and how Louisiana is getting involved. His presentation, “The Greening of the LA Economy: Fact or Fiction?” will present the concept of the green economy and cover the following topics:

    • What exactly is the Green Economy and how is it growing?
    • Is Louisiana (and Baton Rouge) really invested in it?
    • What does the Green Economy mean for you and your business?

“LSU’s Division of Economic Development, working with the Louisiana Workforce Commission, conducted a recent study around the Green Economy within Louisiana,” LSU Executive Education Director Robin Kistler said. “This is an opportunity to find out if a Green Economy exists in our state and what it means to local business and industry. I think people will be surprised by what they will learn.”

Registration for the event is $25 per participant, which includes a full breakfast, coffee, juice and the opportunity to meet with LSU experts and business professionals from the Baton Rouge area. LSU students, staff, and faculty may register at a reduced rate of $20. Members of SCORE, Louisiana Tech Park, the LSU Louisiana Business & Technology Center and Center for Emerging Technology also receive a reduced event fee of $20. Registration can be completed online at http://www.executive.lsu.edu or by clicking here.

Breakfast to Business is a bi-monthly program held on the third Tuesday of every other month and presented by LSU Executive Education, which is housed in the LSU Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute. The aim of the program is to provide timely, practical information and solutions regarding current business topics that affect the Baton Rouge community from a local, regional and national perspective.
