The LSU Ourso College of Business Administration chapter of Omega Rho, an internationally affiliated honor society for graduate and undergraduate information systems and decision sciences (ISDS) students, has installed its officers for the 2004-2005 academic year.

John Woosley, a Ph.D. candidate in ISDS, is the new president. This is his first year with Omega Rho. Currently, he manages the ISDS Research Center and the LA Crash Project operations. Woosley has earned master’s degrees in both ISDS and kinesiology, as well as a bachelor’s degree in kinesiology, from LSU. He is a member of the Association for Information Systems (AIS), the Academy of Management (AOM), and the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM). He is also a volunteer track official with the LSU Track and Field Officials Association.

Michael Dies has been named vice president. He is pursuing a master’s degree in ISDS with a specialization in internal audit. He is a graduate assistant in the ISDS Department where he works on the LA Crash Project in conjunction with the LA Department of Transportation and Development, and is currently interning in Palo Alto, CA with Hewlett-Packard.

Bin Zhang will serve as secretary for Omega Rho. Zhang is a Ph.D. student in ISDS and a new member of Omega Rho. He was an IT engineer working for 2 years with an industrial bank before coming to LSU. He holds database administrator certification from both Oracle and Microsoft and is an active member of the International High IQ Society. Zhang also volunteers his skills designing webpages for on-campus student associations.

Kibily D. Samake has been named treasurer. He is pursuing a master’s degree in ISDS after earning bachelor’s degree in ISDS from LSU in spring 2004. Samake recently received the 2004 LSU Pre-Doctoral Scholars Institute fellowship and is conducing healthcare and information technology adoption research with Dr. Sonja Wiley-Patton of the Ourso College ISDS department. Samake is also a tutor and a mentor at the Academic Center for Student-Athletes. He is a member of the Phi Eta Sigma National Honor Society andthe Institute of Internal Auditors, a reading friend with the Volunteers in Public School (VIPS) program, and a member of the Gamma Beta Phi Society.
