OMICRON DELTA EPSILON

Omicron Delta Epsilon is the International Honor Society in Economics. ODE was founded in 1915 and currently has 566 chapters located in the United States and abroad.

Recognition of scholastic attainment and honoring outstanding achievements in economics are the primary objectives of ODE. For this purpose a number of fellowships and awards, whose previous winners are distinguished and well-known economic professionals, are offered annually. Since 1957 the American Economist, the official journal of ODE, has been published to provide an outlet for essays by graduate students. The journal also provides a means of acquainting young economists with current developments.

The Gamma chapter at Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge was established in 1967. Both graduate and undergraduate students who meet the membership requirements are invited to join.
