Slawson joined the LSU faculty in September 1995 after
completing his Ph.D. at the University of Georgia. Previously,
he earned an M.B.A. from Georgia and a B.S.B.A. in accounting
from the University of Southern Mississippi. He is currently
Associate Professor of Finance and Associate Director
of the Real Estate Research Institute. Slawson also holds
the Latter & Blum Endowed Professorship. He received
the 2000-2001 Erich Sternberg Foundation Teaching Excellence
Award for the E.J. Ourso College of Business. His research
interests are in the areas of real estate finance, mortgage
modeling and pricing, and real estate derivative securities.
