Finance in Music

(Don Chance)

The following are two lists.  The first is songs in which money, banking, finance, etc. is in the title.  Of course, money is one of the most universal of human passions, so it is not surprising that so many songs are about it.  But I thought this list would be interesting.  The second list is a very short one containing song without these themes in the title but which contain lines related to them.  If you know of any more, please email me at dchance@lsu.edu.

An interesting and related site is that of Professor Rauli Susmel of the University of Houston is somewhat the reverse-engineered version of this.  He takes various lyrics and gives the finance/economics interpretation.
