Doctoral Programs in Finance at U.S. Universities

The following is a set of links to doctoral programs in finance at U. S. universities. 

To be included, the program must

• be at a U. S. university (I need to keep this list to a manageable size; a list of non-U.S. schools is maintained by Barbaros Serdar Ozsoy of the University of Alberta at this link.),
• not be in financial engineering, quantitative finance, financial mathematics, mathematical finance, computational finance, etc.; this list may not be inclusive of all possible variations of finance that are excluded.  The primary rule I use is that the program must be in business school.  I will, however, include programs in economics if they are specifically designated as finance concentrations and done in conjunction with a finance faculty.

• No, I do not have a ranking of programs but this link is a paper that contains rankings based on productivity of faculty, graduates, and opinions of Ph.D. program directors.  I am pleased to say that LSU has a very respectable ranking in both productivity polls but does not appear in the top 50 in poll taken of Ph.D. program directors, which demonstrates once again that opinions and images are relatively  worthless.  Substance is what counts.
