A very special thank you goes to the LSU Foundation. Without their generosity, the members of this class would have never had this experience. The money they granted the Finance Department to run the Student Managed Investment Fund permits Louisiana State University to broaden the scope of the curriculum. Their contribution of one million dollars has also allowed us to obtain real world experience otherwise not achievable. The fund allows us to conduct in depth analysis of the companies traded on the Standard and Poor’s 100 Index, and also, invest in those companies to see our analysis pay off. With the establishment of courses of this nature, LSU can further its pursuit of becoming a Flagship University.
