Investment PolicyThe primary investment objective of the LSU Student Managed Investment Fund (Geaux Fund) is to achieve long-term capital growth by investing in marketable U.S. equities listed on the Standard & Poor's 100 Index and exceed the total return of the index. The secondary objective of the Fund is to enhance the educational programs of the E. J. Ourso College of Business Administration by providing its students with valuable hands-on experience in security analysis and the management of an investment portfolio, and by strengthening their skills and abilities in market analysis, financial research, oral and written communication, and teamwork. In addition, the Fund will improve the reputation of the College, attract high quality students, faculty and recruiters, and strengthen the ties between the College and the investment community. While the Fund can hold cash if the managers believe the current investment landscape offers no viable or good investment alternatives, the Fund is not allowed to invest in bonds, derivatives, hybrid securities, or any other form of investment or investment vehicles.
