    ISDS MAJOR QUESTIONS

    What is the focus of the ISDS undergraduate program?

    The ISDS undergraduate curriculum focuses on the analysis, design and implementation of information technology-based systems to support the operations and management functions of an organization.

    Can a student in the ISDS undergraduate program choose an area of specialization?

    Yes, students may choose an area of specialization in another business field such as internal auditing, accounting, finance and management.

    What is the focus of the ISDS Ph.D. program?

    The Ph.D. in Business Administration with a major in ISDS is designed to provide advanced as well as comprehensive academic training for those who wish to pursue careers at a research university. The program seeks to develop a complete professional faculty with a broad managerial perspective by providing the students with training in research methodology, knowledge of the current information technology, and with knowledge of how they are applied in businesses as well as training for teaching at an institution of higher education.

    What are the total hours of the undergraduate program?

    The ISDS major at LSU consists of 120 hours. See the LSU General Catalog for more information.

    May I take a course at another university towards my ISDS degree?

    Prior to taking the course, check with the ISDS Undergraduate Advisor to make sure it will be accepted in your LSU degree program. Bring an evaluation form, a catalog description of the course, and if possible a copy of the syllabus and the name of the textbook(s) that will be used.

    May I petition for a curriculum change?

    You may petition to change your major, your minor, or a concentration in your curriculum. See your academic advisor in the E. J. Ourso College of Business Administration for more information.

    Who do I see for advising?
