What is Management?
Management is the process of getting activities completed efficiently and effectively through other
people. Planning, organizing, staffing, directing, coordinating, reporting, and budgeting are all key
factors and aspects of the overall function of an organization's management.

The Rucks Department of Management
- Encompasses a breadth of teaching and research in areas such as organizational behavior, human
resources, strategy, entrepreneurship, industrial/labor relations, and international management
for undergraduates, graduate students, and executives.
- Offers a bachelor's degree that builds upon the foundation of the college's core business
curriculum.
- Allows bachelor students to pursue concentrations in entrepreneurship, human resource management,
or general management.
- Offers Ph.D. students a limited and selective enrollment that provides students opportunities to develop personal and professional ties with faculty and fellow students,
as well as opportunities to work with faculty actively engaged in a wide range of on-going research projects, the results of which are regularly reported in leading social science journals.

The LSU Honors College provides the opportunity for exceptional students to earn the upper-division
honors distinction along with the bachelor's in management. Additionally, students can participate in
