    Accounting
THE ADVANTAGE OF A LSU MASTER OF SCIENCE IN ACCOUNTING

The accounting profession has seen dramatic changes in its activities over the last generation. Today’s accountant is vastly different than his/her predecessor of years ago. Increasingly, accountants are called upon to engage in tasks that go far beyond the scope of what was traditionally thought of as accounting services. This broadening of scope brought on by shifts in the social, technological, financial, legal, and ethical environments has been reflected in the 150-hour requirement to sit for the Certified Public Accounting exam. The challenge is to develop in today’s professional accountant the breadth of knowledge necessary to cope in today’s complex environment. The Masters of Science (M.S.) in Accounting Program at Louisiana State University is designed to meet that challenge. With special emphasis on fundamentals and business decision making, the program is uniquely qualified to prepare the student for a lifetime of continual learning and development.

    Finance
THE ADVANTAGE OF A LSU MASTER OF SCIENCE IN FINANCE

The Master of Science program in Finance provides its students with the analytical and communicative skills necessary for effective financial decision making through the application of financial theory and quantitative techniques. With ever-increasing financial globalization and competition for employment in the financial sector, it is crucial that professionals prepare for the increasingly complex world of Finance by building a solid foundation. The LSU MS Finance Program offers a challenging advanced degree that prepares its participants to become the leaders of this rewarding and dynamic field.

    Information Systems and Decision Sciences
THE ADVANTAGE OF A LSU MASTER OF SCIENCE IN INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND DECISION SCIENCES

The special Master of Science (M.S.) program in Information Systems & Decision Sciences (ISDS) is pre-dominantly for students with backgrounds in business management. The program emphasizes the business applications of information technology and information systems. The student who will gain the most from the program will have an undergraduate business degree, will have worked for at least two years in industry, and will have some experience with information technology in the work place. Students without a business background are encouraged to consider the E. J. Ourso College’s Flores MBA degree with an information systems specialization.
