BATON ROUGE - Larry Crumbley, KPMG Endowed Professor in the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business’ Department of Accounting, was quoted in the Chronicle of Higher Education article “Rating Your Professors: Scholars Test Improved Course Evaluations.”

The article deals with universities’ emphasis on student course evaluations to analyze a teacher’s performance. Crumbley recently co-edited a book regarding this topic.

“They should be outlawed,” Crumbley is quoted as saying in the article. “Students are the inventory, the real stakeholders in higher education are employers, society and the people who hire our graduates. But what we do is ask the inventory if a professor is good or bad.”

The article ran April 25, 2010, and can be viewed in part here.
