FAE Headquarters: LSU Accounting Department

“What the use of finger prints was to the 19th century and DNA analysis was to the 20th, forensic accounting will be to the 21st century.”
- Gordon Brown, Chancellor of the Exchequer, 10 October 2006.

Yes, forensic accounting techniques might have saved Arthur Andersen. Forensic identifiers may have discovered the bad accounting and fraud at Enron, WorldCom, Xerox, and other ones. We are talking about the corporate scum of the earth (worse than aliens and eight legged freaks). [Of course, ethics would have helped.] Forensic accountants may be described as financial detectives and litigation support warriors. Forensic accountants cover all areas of accounting: auditing, cost accounting, taxation, information systems, etc.

Fraud Identifiers

So where can you study from these forensic accounting extraordinaries - those men and women in black? Those defenders of corporate governance. At LSU, of course. Two of them are Jackie Moffitt and Larry Crumbley, as they act out their parody on the home page. Here is what these forensic accountants recommend to study forensic accounting, to help rebuilt our accounting profession's reputation. [Guns are not provided, but talent is.]

FAE Armory

There will be a huge shortage of forensic accountants as the accounting profession incorporates forensic identifiers and techniques into external and internal auditing. Be there or be left out! Develop forensic accounting knowledge and be rewarded. Be a forensic accountant extraordinaire.
