LSUís Larry Crumbley Wins Federation of Business Disciplines Outstanding Educator Award

BATON ROUGE Ė Larry Crumbley, KPMG Endowed Professor in the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Businessí Department of Accounting, was recently awarded the Outstanding Educator Award by the Federation of Business Disciplines. The award was sponsored by the American Accounting Association Southwest Region and presented to Crumbley at the 2010 Federation of Business Disciplines Conference, which was held in March.

Employed by LSU since 1996, Crumbley serves as the editor of the Journal of Forensic Accounting. He received both his masterís and Ph.D. from LSU and his bachelorís from Pfeiffer University. His research and teaching interests include corporate and individual taxation, accounting for natural resources, forensic accounting and accounting education. Additionally, Crumbley, a certified public accountant and forensic accountant, is the author of more than 50 books and 13 educational novels. He was the recipient of the 2007 Society of Louisiana CPA Lifetime Achievement in Accounting Education Award.

Federation of Business Disciplines is a successful nonprofit, volunteer-driven organization. It was founded in 1973 and held its first meeting in 1974. FBD developed into one to the largest, most prestigious annual meetings for those disciplines common to business administration and has both national and international constituencies of more than 1,000 college professors from schools of businesses attending its annual meetings. FBD presently includes 10 professional associations that focus on the promotion and improvement of research and educational activities of schools and colleges of businesses.

The Department of Accounting at LSUís E. J. Ourso College of Business strives for excellence in teaching, research and service to the accounting profession. With a mission of producing graduates at all levels who excel in their pursuits, the department offers undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare students for careers in various fields, including industry, auditing, finance, government and academia.
