    Holiday Party

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter will host a holiday party Thursday, December 15, 2011, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bistro Byronz, located at 5412 Government Street.

    All LSU MBA alumni are invited to attend the event. There is no charge to attend. Light appetizers will be served.

    The evening will afford alumni the opportunity to learn about the LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association and to see how they can become part of the organization. Troy Prevot, president of the chapter, invites all alums to come and join the festivities. Additionally, administrators from the LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business will be in attendance, including LSU Flores MBA Program Director Ed Watson and Alumni & External Relations Director Wendy Luedtke.

    During the event, the chapter will present a check from the proceeds of Louisiana Looking Up to Watson for the LSU Flores MBA Program.

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter provides a forum for LSU Flores MBA graduates to network, stay in touch with classmates and continue their business education through meaningful events. The Flores MBA Alumni Association endeavors to play a valuable role in the continued growth of the E. J. Ourso College of Business through a capital campaign and volunteer opportunities for Flores MBA graduates.

    Louisiana Looking Up

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association – Louisiana Chapter will hold its eighth annual Louisiana Looking Up Event Thursday September 15, 2011 at the LSU Lod Cook Alumni Center.

    The event will feature Adam Knapp, President and CEO of the Baton Rouge Area Chamber, David Steiner, CEO of Waste Management, Todd Graves, Founder of Raising Canes, Matt Saurage, President and CEO of Community Coffee Company and a member of the Celtic Media Group.

    Louisiana Looking Up will serve as a venue to exchange business ideas, and provide a premier networking opportunity and the speakers will address issues that will accentuate Louisiana’s positive business news.

    The proceeds from the event will help benefit the LSU Flores MBA programs and its globalization effort.

    The MBAAA – Louisiana Chapter will host a general meeting for all LSU Flores MBA Thursday, May 26, 2011 from 5:30 – 7:30 p.m. The event will be held in the Shaw building located at 4171 Essen Lane, Baton Rouge, LA 70809.

    All LSU Flores MBA alumni are invited to attend the event, which will be attended by LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business Dean Eli Jones, LSU Flores MBA Program Director Ed Watson and Alumni & External Relations Director Wendy Luedtke. The agenda for the meeting will include a discussion about the state of sponsorships for Louisiana Looking Up and upcoming events.

    All attendees will be asked to check in at the front desk upon entering the building for the meeting where they will receive a visitor’s name tag.

    Chapter Social

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association – Louisiana Chapter is hosting a spring social Wednesday, May 18th from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Garden District Home of Jim and Blair Purgerson.

    The MBAAA will serve Spring cocktails and Hors D'oeuvres. All LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association members are encouraged to join.

    The event will also serve as a celebration of the most recent Flores MBA Graduating Class of 2011.

    The attire for the event is Business Casual.

    Spring Training

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter will host its annual Spring Training Event, Thursday, March 24, 2011, from 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at the LSU Faculty Club.

    This year’s event will feature a presentation titled “Business Intelligence/Business Analytics at LSU,” which will be delivered by Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences Associate Professor James Van Scotter and Instructor Joni Nunnery Shreve. Van Scotter serves as the master’s advisor for the ISDS department. His research interests include the benefits of e-commerce. Nunnery Shreve specializes in using technology for enhanced learning.

    A reception will be held during the event, which will include hors d’oeuvres and cocktails. The cost of the event for LSU Flores MBAAA members is $10, and the cost for non-members is $25. LSU Flores MBA students can attend the event at a cost of $10. Payment by credit card can be made in advance online at www.bus.lsu.edu/rsvp.

    There is no set attire for the Spring Training Event.

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter will hold a general meeting Tuesday, February 15th, 2011 at LUBA Workers’ Comp located at 2351 Energy Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70808 at 5:30 p.m.

    The agenda for the meeting will include the discussion of Louisiana Looking Up 2011. The discussion will center on the repositioning of the aim of Louisiana Looking Up, with the main focus on supporting the globalization effort of the LSU Flores MBA program and securing sponsors for the event.     Board Meeting

    The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter will hold a board meeting Thursday, January 27th, 2011 at 5:30 p.m. in 3530 Patrick F. Taylor Hall on the LSU campus.

    The agenda for the meeting will include the discussion and planning of future events including Louisiana Looking Up, the Spring Training event and the crawfish boil. LSU Flores MBAAA board members will be in attendance and all other LSU Flores MBA Alumni are invited to attend.

    The annual Flores LSU MBA Alumni Association holiday party will be held at Bistro Byronz in Baton Rouge on December 16, 2010 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
