Dear Flores MBA Alumni:
We are well into the year and are pleased to say that we are making excellent progress toward our main goals for 2008, which are:
Continue to grow our annual fundraising event, Louisiana Looking Up (Note that we have now dropped the exclamation point from the event name)
Increase the value of your MBAAA membership to you
Louisiana Looking Up! 2007, hosted by the Flores MBA Alumni Association-Louisiana Chapter last September, raised more than $10,000, all of which went to travel scholarship for full-time Flores MBA students. Our core organizers—Troy Prevot, Michele Avery, John Prestigiacomo, and Sandra Thompson—have been joined by Court Bradford. Together they have assembled an impressive panel of speakers for Louisiana Looking Up 2008. Please contact Troy Prevot, vice president of Fundraising, at tprevot@lubawc.com if you would like to participate in this important committee.
Our Member Programs Committee, chaired by Melissa Bennett, is developing our first professional development series, which will be presented in the fall of 2008. Other activities include the design and distribution of membership gifts such as Flores MBA Alumni window decals and notepads. We are confident that their efforts will help to engage and retain our members. If you are interested in helping, please contact Melissa Bennett, vice president of Member Programs, at melissa.bennett@honeywell.com.
Our other active committees offer several opportunities to become involved in your Flores MBA Alumni Association. Please contact one of our committee chairs and volunteer your time:
Treasury/Member Records

Secretary/Communications

Student Programs

As you can see, our programs are consistent with our mission of supporting the Flores MBA Program and providing networking opportunities for our alumni. We have many opportunities for you to become involved, including member recruiting, student networking, communications, social events, and fundraising. If you have any questions, please contact me at dts@c-ka.com or Jim Purgerson, president-elect, at jim@cbtla.com.
I end my message with this appeal: Locate an old classmate and have them join the Flores MBA Alumni Association today.
Sincerely,
Dan Strecker President
