Louisiana State University is a state institution and receives public funding. Doesn’t my tax money and tuition cover your costs?

For the year 2007-2008, state funds only financed 58.1% of the operating budget for the university. While state-provided funding and auxiliary enterprises have steadily decreased over the years, tuition increases to compensate for the loss of those funds are impermissible—the E. J. Ourso College is determined to continue to provide a top quality business education that is also affordable. To achieve this goal, the college needs the help of its alumni and friends.
