    LSU Center for Internal Auditing
Equity, Diversity, and Community Outreach Report
    2007-2008

The LSU Center for Internal Auditing is committed to providing quality internal audit education to students from a variety of academic disciplines and ethnic backgrounds. To facilitate the recruitement of minority students, the LSU Center for Internal Auditing hired Carlos Thomas in July 2007 as a diversity recuiter. Through a series of informational sessions targeting underrepresented populations, the LSUCIA was able to strategically increase promotion of the LSUCIA's programs to students at Louisiana State University and Southern University. In February 2007, the LSUCIA was awarded a three-year grant from The Institute of Internal Auditors Internal Audit Education Partnership. A component of the grant will fund the diversity recuiting coordinator position. The diversity coordinator also provides diversity training for the LSUCIA students and conducts related research.
