The word "blueprint" generally connotes a detailed drawing developed in an architect's plan.  However, the dictionary gives a second definition for the word: "a program of action."  The franchise blueprint is simply a program of action and develops the franchise business plan.  The prospective franchisee now becomes the architect; and the franchise blueprint becomes the detailed business plan of the operation.
