SUMMARY

The franchise prospectus sent to a prospective franchisee generally contains a brochure of information about the general operations of the franchise. In addition, the Uniform Franchise Offering Circular (UFOC), franchise agreement and an individual franchise application are included. This provides the prospective franchisee the opportunity to review in fairly good detail the operations and offerings which a franchisee has.

A prospective franchisee should compare the prospectus of one franchisor organization with another. You should review the operations as well as the financial obligations of each franchise. They will all be different. You must know the strengths and weaknesses of each and every franchising organization.
