Responsibilities of FACs

The primarily responsibilities of the FAC is to provide advice, counsel, and suggestions to the franchisor. This is done through a series of committees as well as meetings.

FACs often meet on a national basis at least once a year. Executive advisory councils generally meet two to four times a year. Regional meetings may be conducted on a one to four times a year basis. The committees often meet two or more times during the year.

The committee structure is generally a voluntary structure. Any individuals participating generally do so at their own expense and at their own initiative. However, the committees are promoted by the franchisors and franchisees because of the seriousness of their discussions and the importance of what they do.
