You are here: Franchisor Book > Franchisee Advisory Councils > Summary SUMMARY FAC's are a very useful management tool which the franchisor may use to increase communication between the franchisors and franchisees. The franchise advisory council is generally created by the franchisor and is composed of membership of all franchisees. The members generally pay their own costs except when executive advisory councils are created based on regional membership at which time a franchisor may incur the costs of food and transportation. FAC's are generally divided into two major standing committees including advertising/market and operations. In addition, other committees might include service, finance, research and development, and grievance procedures. The FAC meetings generally occur on a national basis once a year and more frequently on a regional or committee basis.
