Because of the need to instill both positive attitudes and behavioral skills within the new franchisee, it is very critical to select a competent training director. The training director will be responsible for all training programs for both the headquarters staff and franchisee staff.  This training director must be capable of working with many different individuals and all kinds of different personalities. The effective training director will realize the duality of his position in providing training for 

(1) operational skills and 

(2) positive self-confidence and attitude. 

The training director will be responsible for explaining specific job duties, policies, procedures, and the handling of each task within the business. In addition, the training director must be able to inspire confidence, a feeling of rapport, and respect for the business operation. The training manager should possess personal expertise and all the practical aspects of the operation, as well as being able to develop a sense of confidence for the franchisee and their employees.
