Uses of a Business Plan 

A business plan is a valuable management tool that can be utilized in a wide variety of situations. In most instances, the business plan is used at a minimum to:

1.Set goals and objectives for the company’s performance, 

2.Provide a basis for evaluating and controlling the company's performance, 

3.Communicate the company’s message to self, managers,
staff, franchisor, suppliers, lenders, and potential investors, 

4.Provide direction for future growth of the business, including planning for development of new products and modifying existing products.
