The HSRG, collaborating with the Louisiana State Police, is conducting a Geographic Information Systems (GIS) project to assist policymakers in analysis of Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) data for the state of Louisiana. The project aims to develop Web and desktop GIS applications that help visual analysis of crashes regarding their locations and possible factors triggering these crashes.

• Visualization: ability to view data in a visual manner greatly increases understanding of data and allows policymakers to make better informed decisions
