TRIP PROFILE
Name: Vivienxuan Luo
Location: Hong Kong

Even though I am from China, I was amazed by Hong Kong, a region very different from the rest of the mainland. I am very glad that I had this opportunity to go to Hong Kong for approximately three months for an internship at Deloitte Hong Kong.

I was amazed to see the fast growing economy of Hong Kong, a Special Administration Region, and mainland China. Hong Kong serves as the gateway for doing business in the booming mainland with the combination of both Chinese and western culture.

The internship was a great opportunity for me to further digest and apply what I have learned from LSU’s Internal Auditing program. While working in the company’s internal auditing sector, the major project I was assigned to required an overall understanding of internal auditing concepts and principle and an understanding of local economic laws and related regulations. I enjoyed the work not only because I was exposed to various types of engagements but also because I got to know the basic principles and working environment of the professional firm. Furthermore, the internship provides me a better understanding of the internal auditing profession and thus prepared me better for launching a full-time job in this career.

I enjoyed the internship and appreciated very much the support I got from the CIA program, the Flores MBA program, and the Modern Chinese Business and Culture Initiative, regarding initiating and sustaining the entire internship.
