    Biographical Summary
    Brian Gerber holds a PhD in political science from SUNY at Stony Brook. He has published nearly two dozen peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on issues such as homeland security policy and disaster preparedness in the U.S., environmental regulatory policy, and the impact of institutional structure on bureaucratic behavior and policy outputs. His work can be found in journals such as Public Administration Review, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, Policy Studies Journal, Political Research Quarterly and Urban Affairs Review. He has served as principal investigator on multiple research projects funded by organizations such as the National Science Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education, and the West Virginia Department of Military Affairs and Public Safety. He has extensive experience in policy and program evaluation for state and local government agencies, has worked with state-level government on catastrophic incident planning and is currently leading a major national study examining ways to improve assistance to persons with disabilities during disaster evacuations.
