LBTC PROSPECTIVE TENANT APPLICATION INFORMATION


Application Criteria

All eligible applicants are encouraged to complete an application packet and submit it to the LBTC’s application committee for review and consideration. This can be done via on-line, fax, or regular mail. The following consist of the LBTC’s eligibility requirements to be considered for the the business incubation program:

  • Technology oriented company
  • Defined business structure
  • Sufficient financial resources or demonstrate the ability to obtain sufficient financial resources while participating in the incubator program
  • Principle owner’s must have related management experience.
  • Registered with the Louisiana Secretary of State Office
  • All Business licenses must be in place prior to entering the program.
  • A prototype of the company’s product or service has been developed or soon to be completed.
  • The product or service must be technically feasible with acceptable risks.
  • Evidence of a clear market opportunity or niche for the product or service.
  • Company must have legal rights to its technology (i.e. a patent, potential to patent or other instruments to protect its technology).
  • Must demonstrate the ability to generate company growth and provide the opportunity of creating jobs in the Baton Rouge area or the state of Louisiana


LBTC Prospective Application Information

All prospective tenants are required to submit a packet of information. This information consists of the following but not limited to:

  • LBTC Tenant Application
  • LBTC Tenant Profile
  • Business Plan to include 3 to 5 year financial projections and a 12-month cash flow budget. (If business plan is not available then a Business Concept plan can be substituted for the business plan. The Business Concept plan is usually no more than 2 to 4 pages and contains information on the description of the business, products, technology, or services offered, size and scope of target market, management experience, estimated financial performance projections and risks.)
  • Information on the company's technology
  • LSBDC Technology Center at LSU Request for Counseling Form
