Chairman and CEO of Stirling Properties Inc. James Maurin and his wife, Lillian, have donated $1 million to the campaign for the new LSU E. J. Ourso College of Business building.
Maurin is a 1971 graduate of LSU and a member of the E. J. Ourso College’s Dean’s Advisory Council. Lillian graduated from LSU in 1970. They made the donation in honor of Lillian’s father, Robert H. Crosby Jr.
After earning his degree in aerospace engineering from LSU, Maurin received an MBA from Tulane University in 1972 and began his career as a certified public accountant with Ernst & Ernst. He co-founded Stirling Properties in 1975 as a major developer of shopping centers. Today, the company is headquartered in Covington, La. and has developed a strong network of developments throughout the Gulf South that offers commercial and residential services.
