It was with mixed feelings that I resigned from my position as dean of LSU’s
E. J. Ourso College of Business. I am excited about the opportunity to lead Georgia’s Terry College of Business, and my wife and I are very happy to be moving much closer to her family. I will, however, miss my many LSU friends and colleagues.READ MORE

LANE APPOINTED INTERIM DEAN


In the wake of Dean Robert Sumichrast’s resignation, LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe has appointed William Lane interim dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business, effective July 1, 2007.

“Professor Lane is an ideal professional to serve the business college’s leadership agenda,” O’Keefe said. “His is most conversant with the Flagship Agenda and the extraordinary efforts of business alumni to support the new business building. He commands great respect from the faculty and sees the imperative to continue momentum. Interim Dean Lane will hardly be a placeholder. He has my full confidence and appreciation for his exemplary service.”

LSU PROFESSOR AWARDED FULBRIGHT SCHOLARSHIP

LSU Professor Evan M. Berman has been awarded the esteemed J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship to South Korea. Berman teaches in the Public Administration Institute of the E. J. Ourso College of Business and is the Herbert Huey McElveen distinguished professor.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP INSTITUTE RENAMED FOR STEPHENSONS


The Entrepreneurship Institute at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business was renamed on May 16th to honor university alumni Emmet and Toni Stephenson.

The Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, as it will now be known, has received a $4 million pledge from the couple that will be used to redefine its mission.

HUDSON NAMED MPA ALUMNA OF THE YEAR


Rose Hudson, president of the Louisiana Lottery Corporation, has been named MPA Alumna of the Year by the Public Administration Institute at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business.

Hudson formally received her award at a special luncheon held Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Longview, former home of Louisiana Governor Earl K. Long.
