Charlotte Murray Pace MBA Memorial Scholarship;

On May 24, 2002, "Murray," as
her friends knew her, graduated in the top
10% of her MBA class from the E. J. Ourso
College of Business Administration. Exactly
one week later, she was murdered. In the
aftermath of her death, classmates and friends
asked that a scholarship be established
in her name.
Murray, who grew up in Jackson, Mississippi,
excelled throughout her academic career.
In the fall of 1996, after having graduated
high school one year early, she entered
Millsaps College in Jackson. At Millsaps,
Murray joined Kappa Delta Sorority, where
she exhibited leadership in every facet
of the organization and contributed to numerous
charitable causes, including Kappa Delta
Shamrock Project to benefit victims of child
abuse; The Bunny Shoestring-a mentoring
program for inner city children; and Stewpot
Volunteers-a group that prepares and serves
meals to the homeless. Murray also played
varsity soccer at Millsaps and served as
captain of the team in her last two seasons.
In May of 2000, Murray earned a bachelor's
degree in accounting from Millsaps. She
enrolled in the LSU Flores MBA program the
following fall. Murray immediately became
a standout among her peers. At just 22 years
old, Murray was the youngest MBA to graduate
in her class.
At the time of her death, Murray was slated
to begin her career as an Internal Auditor
with the Enterprise Risk Services practice
of Deloitte & Touche LLP in Atlanta,
Ga.
Murray Pace was a consummate classmate
and a friend to all. Her presence will be
sorely missed.
To commemorate the life and achievements
of Charlotte Murray Pace, the MBA Class
of 2002 has established the Charlotte Murray
Pace Memorial MBA Scholarship. Your contribution
to the scholarship will ensure that Murray's
legacy of success endures.

The Flores MBA Class of 2002 mourns
the death of our friend and classmate,
Murray Pace, but we will never forget
her. She was an outstanding student
and pushed her classmates to excel.
She lived her life to the fullest,
and our lives were enriched for having
known her.
Please join me in contributing
to the Charlotte Murray Pace Memorial
MBA Scholarship.

Sometime between the
last day of May and the first day of June
the sun forgot to
rise and so did the moon.
The earth fell from the sky, lost the track
it should take
and left us in darkness
filled with heartache.
