The Public Administration Institute (PAI) at the E. J. Ourso College of Business offers the Master of Public Administration (MPA), a 42-hour degree program which emphasizes management and financial skills for those leading public agencies, nonprofit and healthcare organizations, and for-profit organizations that interact with governmental agencies.
The PAI provides outstanding educational opportunities for those already in the workforce who wish to advance their careers, as well as those who seek an MPA immediately after earning their undergraduate degree. Our graduates have been successful in the public, nonprofit, and private sectors, and have entered the Presidential Management Fellowship Program. They work for the federal government and state governments, become legislators and attorneys, join staffs on Capitol Hill in Washington, become members of the Office of the Governor, and hold key positions with national healthcare providers, among many other varied accomplishments.
The PAI faculty members are highly energetic, student-oriented, and nationally-recognized for expertise in their fields. The PAI is proud to count among its faculty the Executive Vice Chancellor and Provost of Louisiana State University, Astrid Merget. Every faculty member brings academic integrity, professional training, and real world experience to the classroom.
We invite you to get acquainted with the MPA Program at LSU, an extraordinary program providing a professional education for students seeking a career that is both interesting and vital.
