OURSO COLLEGE MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT NAMES RUCKS FELLOWS

November 24, 2004

Ten students in the management program at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business Administration have been selected as the Rucks Fellows for 2004-2005. The newest Rucks Fellows are: Thomas Bowden, Mitchell Fain, Jennifer Hartley, Abigail Lambert, Kristi Richard, Mackenzie Smith, Andrew Stewart, Shannon Talamo, Sarah Trufant and Aimee Verrette.

To qualify for the Rucks Fellowship, recipients must be full-time students majoring in management, rank among the top 10 management majors by cumulative grade point average, and participate in Rucks Fellowship activities such as awards and recognition ceremonies.

Consistent with their standing as the department’s most outstanding undergraduate students, Rucks Fellows are afforded opportunities not available to other students. These include preferential enrollment in any management course or class section, frequent interaction with faculty and business leaders, and a special recognition during commencement exercise.

The Rucks Fellowship Program was established in 1998. The program is named in honor of William W. Rucks IV (BS ’79) and his wife, Catherine. The couple donated more than $2 million in 1996 to the department of management, which now bears their name.
