Researchers in the Department of Finance at LSU's E. J. Ourso College of Business rank in the top 2 percent of all published finance faculty for academic productivity according to a study in the latest issue of the Journal of Finance Literature.
Professors Don M. Chance, Jimmy E. Hilliard, and Myron B. Slovin are cited among the most published finance researchers in a study conducted by Phil Cooley and Jean Heck titled "Prolific Authors in the Finance Literature." Cooley and Hack looked at the productivity of more than 17,500 authors in 72 academic finance journals from 1953 to 2002, and listed the top 367 producers. Chance ranked 12th, Slovin ranked 130th, and Hilliard ranked 173rd of the 367 top producers. Cooley and Heck further parse their findings to concentrate on 16 core finance journals, where Chance ranked 31st, Slovin ranked 93rd, and Hilliard ranked 287th among top producers.
