Alvin C. Burns, professor and chair of the marketing
department at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College
of Business, was awarded best paper honors at
Association for Business Stimulation and Experiential
Learning (ABSEL) Conference in Orlando, Florida,
in March, 2005.
Burns won best paper in the experiential learning
track for his study “Teaching Experientially
with the Madeline Hunter Method: An Application
in a Marketing Research Course.”
ABSEL is a professional association dedicated
to developing and promoting experiential learning
techniques and simulations in business education.
In addition to hosting an annual conference, ABSEL
publishes two refereed journals, Simulation &
Gaming: An International Journal of Theory, Design
and Research and Developments in Business Simulation
& Experiential Exercises, the annual proceedings
of the Association of Business Simulation and
Experiential Learning, as well as a semi-annual
newsletter.
