RUCKS FELLOWS ANNOUNCED AT E. J. OURSO COLLEGE OF BUSINESS

November 22, 2005

Ten students in the management program at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business were selected as the Rucks Fellows for 2005-2006.

The newest Rucks Fellows are: Jennifer B. Barrett, Christin A. Claffey, Ashley A. Cooper, Marie E. Curry, Alanna C. Fitts, Lauren K. Guidry, Marjan Z. Khosravanipour, Ashley E. Olano, Ryan T. Pertuit, and Mary A. Traub.

“This is a fitting recognition for our top undergraduate students,” said Robert T. Justis, chair of the Rucks Department of Management. “Our program is challenging, and these students work hard and perform well. The Rucks Fellows are excellent representatives of our department.”

To qualify for the Rucks Fellowship, recipients must be a full-time student majoring in management, must rank among the top 10 management majors by cumulative grade point average, and must participate in Rucks Fellowship activities such as awards and recognition ceremonies.

Consistent with their standing as the department’s most outstanding undergraduate students, Rucks Fellows are afforded opportunities not available to other students. These include preferential enrollment in any management course or class section, frequent interaction with faculty and business leaders, and a special recognition during commencement exercise.

The Rucks Fellowship Program was established in 1998. The program is named in honor of William W. Rucks IV (BS ’79) and his wife, Catherine, for whom the department is also named.
