FLORES MBA PROGRAM ANNOUNCES SPRING DISTINGUISHED SPEAKERS

Robin P. Arkley II, president and owner of SN Servicing Corporation in Eureka, California, will be the first speaker of the spring semester in LSU’s Flores MBA Distinguished Speaker Series.

Arkley will speak to MBA students on Friday, February 10, 2006, at 10 a.m., in the Energy, Coast and Environment Auditorium on LSU’s campus.

SN Servicing Corp. purchases underperforming commercial and residential real estate and real estate loans throughout the United States and Europe. The company has a current portfolio of more than $1 billion.

Prior to founding SN Servicing Corporation, Arkley was a tax attorney with the firm Dun and Arkley, where he structured large corporate transactions such as acquisitions and sales, negotiated shopping mall leases for national retail organizations, and conducted estate planning for family business clients.

Arkley is currently admitted to practice law in California and previously held Certified Tax Specialist credentials in that state. Arkley has also held Certified Public Accountant status in Illinois. He has served on the board of directors of Algiers Bancorp, Statewide Bank, and the Pacific Legal Foundation. In 1998 Arkley was named Businessman of the Year by the Eureka Chamber of Commerce.

Arkley received his bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of Southern California in 1977, and went on to earn his Master of Business-Taxation from USC in 1978. He earned a Juris Doctor from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1982, and a Master of Laws from Georgetown University in 1983.

The Distinguished Speaker Series is an integral component of the innovative Flores MBA Program curriculum. Through this series, students are exposed to the latest ideas and forces that are shaping American and international business with executives who are facing these issues daily and who provide significant educational enrichment that complements the in-class curriculum.

Upcoming speakers this fall semester are Antonio J. Lucio, senior vice president of Insights and Innovation for PepsiCo, on March 10, and David P. Steiner, chief executive officer of Waste Management, on March 17.

The lectures are open to the public, but an RSVP is requested. Dress is professional.
