Helmut Schneider, a professor in the Department
of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at
LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business and
head of the Highway Safety Research Group, recently
received the Traffic Safety Achievement Award.
The award is presented annually through a joint
partnership between the American Automobile Association
and the Safety Council.
The award is presented to an individual in order
to recognize innovative and effective projects,
programs, services or products in the field of
traffic safety which have impacted the metropolitan
Baton Rouge area.
Schneider was awarded for his active leadership
and dedication to traffic safety. Through the
Highway Safety Research Group, Schneider houses
and analyzes data on all traffic crashes in Louisiana
and produces the annual Traffic Records Data Report
for the Louisiana Highway Safety Commission.
