Robert T. Justis, chair of the Rucks Department of Management at LSU’s
E. J. Ourso College of Business, was a guest speaker
at the 14th Philippine International Franchise
Conference and Expo on July 13, 2006.
The Philippine International Franchise Conference
and Expo brings together both local and international
franchising experts to discuss the latest trends
and developments in the global franchising arena.
Additionally, the Expo serves a venue for entrepreneurs
and franchisers to explore business possibilities.
It has been the propeller for phenomenal growth
in the country’s franchising sector.
Justis, often called the “father of small
business education and franchising in the United
States,” spoke about creating wealth through
franchising among small businesses at the conference.
His experience with small business and franchising
is extensive. Justis has published over 125 articles
in scholarly journals, written several textbooks,
and served on the National Steering Committee
of the Small Business Administration
