LOUISIANA BUSINESS AND TECHNOLOGY CENTER PRESENTED WITH 2006 EXCALIBUR AWARD

November 14, 2006

[LSU NEWS]

The Louisiana Business and Technology Center at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business was recently presented with the 2006 Excalibur Award from the Association of University Research Parks. This marks the first Excalibur Award to ever be presented.

The LBTC was awarded this honor for the leadership it displayed during the post-Katrina and Rita period. The LBTC housed numerous technology companies displaced by both hurricanes.

The research park received companies from the University of New Orleans and the LSU School of Dentistry business recovery centers from federal agencies. Additionally, the research park housed hundreds of emergency workers in the days following Hurricane Katrina.

For more information about the LBTC and its role in advancing economic development, please visit www.bus.lsu.edu/centers/lbtc.
