Roy Keller, director of the Louisiana Technology Transfer Office at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, was chosen as the 2007 recipient of the Federal Laboratory Consortium for Technology Transfer’s Outstanding Service Award.
The FLC provides opportunities for its members to link technology research with marketplace skills. Among FLC’s members are over 700 federal laboratories and their parent departments. These members aid the organization in promoting and strengthening technology transfer nationwide.
“Being involved with the FLC has been a tremendous asset for LSU, as well as the state of Louisiana,” Keller said. “Through our involvement we have been able to partner with other technology labs across the nation and draw resources from federal agencies. These relationships are invaluable. ”
Each year the FLC selects one member to receive the Outstanding Service Award for their contribution, service and sustained support. Keller, who has been a member for 15 years, was chosen for his hard work and dedication to promoting technology transfer.
"The LBTC staff is encouraged to join and become active in national organizations to enhance the resources of the LBTC and the services offered to client businesses,” LBTC Executive Director Charles D’Agostino said. “Mr. Keller's work and leadership position with the Federal Laboratory Consortium is an example of an LSU employee striving to enhance their personal capabilities, the LBTC’s resources and the overall national reputation of LSU."
Keller will receive the award during the 2007 FLC Awards Program at the National Meeting in Arlington, Texas on Thursday, May 17, 2007.
