The LSU Flores MBA Alumni Association – Houston Club kicked
off their Executive Speaker Series February 27 in Houston. Pat Hewlett,
the CIO of ExxonMobil and LSU alumnae, was the keynote speaker.
Veronica Guidry, interim president of the Houston Club, served as
emcee. Robert Sumichrast, Dean of the E. J. Ourso College of Business
at LSU, welcomed the guests and updated them on LSU, the college
and the Flores MBA program.
Dave Steiner, CEO of Waste Management, hosted the event at the Waste
Management conference center in downtown Houston. Steiner also welcomed
the guests and shared some thoughts on LSU and Waste Management.
In addition, the event allowed attendees to learn about the newly
formed Houston Club and served as an opportunity to network with
fellow LSU MBA alumni and guests.
Houston Club officers and board members present included Pedro Salinas,
Kristie Davis, Lara Carter, Michael Naul, Lucas Banquer, Andrew Brennan,
Scott Patterson, Matthew Ardoin and Greg Determann.
Representing the E. J. Ourso College of Business in addition to
the dean were Karen Deville, director of the Office of Advancement,
Wendy Luedtke, director of Alumni and External Relations and Tim
Rodrigue, editor in Alumni and External Relations.
The Houston club plans to continue The Executive Speaker Series
as a quarterly event along with other events throughout the year.
