The Dean's Advisory Council at the E. J. Ourso College of Business recently gained two new members - Farrell Malone and Kimberly Robinson. Malone is an audit partner in the Chicago office of KPMG LLP, and Robinson serves as special counsel to Governor Kathleen Blanco.
"The Dean's Advisory Council is crucial to assuring that LSU's E. J. Ourso College fulfills its mission," E. J. Ourso College of Business Dean Robert Sumichrast said. "Kim Robinson and Farrell Malone have backgrounds and interests that make them valuable additions to the Council."
After receiving his bachelor's degree in accounting from LSU in 1973, Malone began his career with the globally recognized audit, tax, and advisory services provider KPMG in its Dallas, Tex. office. He became a KPMG partner in 1983, and, in addition to audit engagement partner responsibilities, now serves as a Securities Exchange Commission Reviewing Partner. As such, he has a depth of knowledge and experience with public companies and is routinely involved in client SEC filings. Malone is also a member of KPMG's Board of Directors.
Robinson received her bachelor's degree in political science from LSU in 1993. She then earned both a master's degree in public administration in 1995 and a law degree in 1998 from the university as well. Before being appointed special counsel to the governor, Robinson served as assistant secretary in the Office of Legal Affairs for Louisiana's Department of Revenue.
The Dean's Advisory Council exists to promote and improve the E. J. Ourso College and consists of prominent business professionals who have donated their time, talents, and resources to support Dean Robert Sumichrast in enhancing the college's image. The DAC has five committees: Business Partnerships, Academic, Financial, Alumni and Public Relations, and the LSU Business Building Oversight Committee.
