LSU PROFESSIONAL ORGANIZATION WINS NATIONAL DISTINCTION

April 4, 2007

During the week of March 27, 2007- April 1, 2007, the Beta Xi Chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon, a prominent LSU professional business fraternity, received 15 national honors at the 51st PSE National Convention in Irvine, CA.

The Beta Xi Chapter brought home the coveted Lewis F. Gordon Top Chapter Award. This honor is given to the national chapter that excels in all areas of chapter operations, including management, recruitment, project development, and financial management. The chapter has consistently placed in the top three for the last 10 years and was proud to bring the honor back to Baton Rouge once again, according chapter past president Lindsey Landry.

“Beta Xi won the top chapter award in 1997,” Landry said. “We’ve been close to winning it again a couple of times since then and are definitely excited and thankful that the 2006 chapter was honored and recognized by the national organization like this.”

In addition to winning the top chapter award, Beta Xi dominated its competition with wins in Top Marketing Project, Top Sales Project, Top Business Plan, Top Public Relations, Top Service Project, Special Events, and Case Study Categories. Beta Xi also won the Top Sales and Marketing Executives International Award for its sponsoring organization, Sales and Marketing Executives International of Baton Rouge, and received the award for Sustained Excellence for earning gold standing for at least three consecutive years.

Lindsey Landry- Swivel Media $2,000 Scholarship
Scott Saylor- Enterprise Rent-A-Car $1,500 Scholarship
Jay Lynch- Whan Memorial $1,000 Scholarship
