LOUISIANA LOOKING UP! 2007 TO BE HELD IN SEPTEMBER

August 28, 2007

[LSU News]

Thursday, September 13, 2007 is the scheduled date for Louisiana Looking Up! 2007. This annual afternoon seminar, sponsored by the Flores MBA Alumni Association – Louisiana Chapter, is celebrating its fourth installment this year and promises to be an informative afternoon for all in attendance.

The theme of this year’s event is Celebration of Entrepreneurship in Louisiana, and some well-known entrepreneurs will be participating to exemplify that theme. Louisiana Looking Up! 2007 will be held from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at the Lod Cook Alumni Center located at 3838 West Lakeshore Drive on the campus of LSU.

Moderated by Rolfe McCollister, publisher of the Greater Baton Rouge Business Report, this year’s exchange of new business ideas will be segmented into two panel presentations – Getting Started and Overcoming Adversity and Going National and Going Global. Confirmed panelists include David Blossman, CEO of Abita Brewing Company; Boysie Bollinger, CEO of Bollinger Shipyards; Louis DeAngelo, CEO of DeAngelo’s Pizzeria Company; Chris Ferrara, CEO of Ferrara Fire Apparatus David Fluker, president of Fluker Farms; John Douthat, CEO of AllBrands; and Chris Russo Blackwood, publisher of InRegister magazine. Additionally, LSU Chancellor Sean O’Keefe and Mark Weaver, director of the Stephenson Entrepreneurship Institute, will serve as speakers.

A cocktail reception will follow the event.

All proceeds from Louisiana Looking Up! 2007 will be used to meet the Flores MBA Alumni Association’s scholarship pledge to LSU.

Seating is limited, and anyone wishing to participate is asked to register as early as possible. The cost for the event is $40 for members of the MBAAA and $50 for non-members.
