LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business ISDS Professor Ye-Sho Chen has been named the director of the college’s Modern Chinese Business and Culture Initiative.
The Modern Chinese Business and Culture Initiative allows highly qualified undergraduate and Flores MBA Program students the opportunity to complete courses related to China at the Baton Rouge campus and experience China through travel abroad. Language immersion, studying at Chinese universities, and international work experience are all aspects that students can take advantage of as part of the initiative.
“The vision for our China initiative is for LSU to become a leading university in U.S.-China business education,” Chen said. “The approach we have been using to move toward that vision is threefold.”
According to Chen, the threefold approach includes partnering with leading universities in China; leveraging the E. J. Ourso College’s recognized internal audit and entrepreneurship programs; and partnering with businesses for social, environmental, and economic development in China.
Chen, who received his Ph.D. from Purdue University, has been employed by LSU since 1985. His research interests include global e-business, international franchising, and strategic information systems. His teaching interests include data management, data warehousing, and knowledge management.
