Ross J. Centanni, chief executive officer and chairman of the board of directors of Gardner Denver Inc., will speak Friday, Oct. 19, 2007 as part of the LSU Flores MBA Program’s Distinguished Speaker Series. The lecture will take place from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in LSU’s Energy, Coast & Environment Building on Nicholson Drive Extension.
Gardner Denver Inc. is recognized as an international leader in the manufacturing of compressors, pumps, fluid transfer equipment and related technologies. Centanni assumed the position of president and CEO of the company in 1993. Last year, Gardner Denver was ranked in Fortune magazine’s “100 Fastest Growing Companies” and most recently, made Forbes magazine’s 400 Best Big Companies in America” list.
Centanni graduated from LSU in 1967 with a bachelor’s in industrial technology and received his MBA from LSU’s business college in 1971. Aside from serving on the board of directors for other corporations including Denman Services, Inc., Esterline Corporation, and the Petroleum Equipment Suppliers Association, Centanni is a member of the executive committee of the International Compressors Air and Allied Machinery Committee.
Centanni will serve as the final speaker in the fall series. The Distinguished Speaker Series is an integral part of the Flores MBA Program, the flagship program of LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business. Through the series, students gain insight into new ideas and forces shaping American and international businesses from executives who face a multitude of issues daily.
All Flores MBA Distinguished Speaker Series lectures are open to the public. Reservations are required, however, and can be made by calling the Flores MBA office at 225-578-8867. Attire for all DSS speakers is professional.
