PI SIGMA EPSILON TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL ART FOR THE HEART CHARITY GALA

TheBeta Xi Chapter of Pi Sigma Epsilon at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business will be hosting the Second Annual Art for the Heart Charity Gala, presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana on Friday, November 9, 2007. The event will take place at the Old Governor's Mansion in downtown Baton Rouge from 8 p.m.-11 p.m.

All proceeds from the gala will benefit the Children's Heart Foundation, an organization that provides research funding for children with congenital and acquired heart disease. Proceeds will also benefit Camp Bon Coeur in Lafayette, a summer camp for children with heart defects.

The event will include a formal self-serve dinner, drinks catered by Bayou Bistro, and desserts from Ambrosia Bakery and Addicted to Chocolate. A silent auction with pieces donated from local artists will be held as well, and a few of the artists who have donated pieces for the auction include George Rodrigue, the creator of the Blue Dog and Mignon Faget, world-renowned jewelry designer. Also, a 10-piece band, "Bobby J and Stuff Like That,” will perform.

The public can bid for the online silent art auction at www.artfortheheartbr.com prior to the event. Online bidding will close Thursday, November 8, 2007 at 5 p.m. but will reconvene at the gala.

Sponsors for Art for the Heart include Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, Lamar Advertising, The Build-A-Bear Foundation, Freeport McMoran, Mockler Beverage, Rotary Club of Metairie, Copies Too, Jenn Ocken Photography, and Ambrosia Bakery.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.artfortheheartbr.com for $100 per person and $150 per couple. Register now as space will be limited.

Pi Sigma Epsilon is a national, co-ed business organization specializing in marketing, management, and sales. The mission of Pi Sigma Epsilon is to provide professional, experiential, and educational tools to take charge of one’s future. The members of the Beta Xi Chapter at LSU have executed the complete planning of the project for the benefit of the Children’s Heart Foundation and Camp Bon Coeur.
