Young Chun, a professor in the Department of Information Systems & Decision Sciences at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, was recently invited by the Decision Science Institute to accept the 2007 Best Theoretical/Empirical Research Paper Award for his paper "Optimal Search and Stopping Rules for the Continuous-type Dichotomous Search."
Chun will be presented with the prestigious award at the institute’s President’s Luncheon, which will take place at the 2007 annual meeting in Phoenix, Ariz. on Nov. 20, 2007 in the Grand Canyon Ballroom of the Marriott Desert Ridge Resort and Spa.
Employed by LSU since 1992, Chun has received numerous teaching and research awards while at the university. He serves on the editorial board of “The Production and Operations Management Journal.”
The Decision Sciences Institute, is an independent non-profit educational organization of professional organization of academicians and practitioners joined in the common interest of applying quantitative and behavioral methods to the problems of society. Through conferences, competitions, and publications the institute provides an international forum for the presentation and sharing of research across various decision science disciplines.
