Ye-Sho Chen, director of the LSU Modern Chinese Business & Culture Initiative and professor in the Department of Information Systems and Decision Sciences at LSU’s E. J. Ourso College of Business, was invited to speak to the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers’ Region Five Conference on
Oct. 27, 2007 on LSU’s campus.
Chen’s lecture at the conference addressed globalization and business issues related to the dynamic Chinese business markets. Topics of discussion included the changing Chinese business environment, issues involved in conducting business in China, and various companies’ current approaches to dealing with and resolving such issues.
The conference was attended by the Region 5 Executive Board, Baton Rouge section members, surrounding section officers from areas such as New Orleans and Lafayette, and Southern University and LSU student branch officers for IEEE.
IEEE, a non-profit organization, is a global professional organization focused on the advancement of technology. The association’s membership exceeds 200,000 and is divided into 10 geographic regions worldwide.
Through its global membership, IEEE serves as an authority on areas ranging from aerospace systems, computers and telecommunications to biomedical engineering, electric power, and consumer electronics among others.
